Regardless of whether you are a newbie or an experienced online punter, your safety and fair gaming at any online casino must be the first priority. With tons of online gambling platforms available today, it is quite challenging to choose a good online casino. Most (if not all) online casinos are licensed by the governing authority of their geographical location. Alderney is a popular title in
the iGaming circuit. All casinos in this jurisdiction are regulated by Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). The commission was established in 2005 and its designed to regulate all internet gambling to ensure fair gaming.
Over the recent years, many gambling providers have moved to Alderney jurisdiction which is ruled by the Alderney Gambling and Control Commission (AGCC). It has gained people’s trust by offering guidance and assistance to online gamers. Additionally, the commission is a completely independent regulator and reputable for their powerful licenses. As a commission, they have been involved in scandals, but this has not stopped them from prospering. They make right decisions when it comes to player dispute settlement to avoid conflicts.
Goals and Objectives
The primary objective of AGCC is to oversee, protect and enhance its reputation. The commission is a member of the International Association of Gaming Regulators and Gaming Regulators European Forum that aims at ensuring that online gambling is fair and honest. Additionally, all online casino operators licensed by AGCC are free of fraudulent activities among other crimes.
Types of Licenses Offered
Although AGCC is popular for its online casino license, it provides a wide collection of eGaming businesses. Potential business owners can apply for a license in two categories, category 1 license and category 2 license.
Category 1 license: this is specifically for B2C (Business to Consumer). It is important in preparing and organizing gambling activities including registration and verification of new players and management of funds.
Category 2 license: this is for B2B (Business to Business) and is responsible for effecting all online transactions.
As a matter of fact, Alderney is among the few licensing authorities offering temporary e-gaming licenses to online casino operators.
Dispute Resolution
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission has the powers to mediate between the casino operator and player. However, we recommend this to be the last resort in your conflict resolution, otherwise, you can be helped through an affiliate platform.
If you have tried to seek assistance but with no success, you should follow the following steps:
In compliance with Regulation 238 of the charter established by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, a registered customer can seek for a formal complaint through writing. An official from the Commission will intervene and try to offer possible solutions to both parties. If no solution has been found up to this point, the Executive Director will launch a further
investigation which will be done by an officer from the Commission. If none of the parties is willing to accept the initial recommendation, the case will be forwarded to be heard by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. This comes with 14-day advance notice to both parties.
All the hearing and the submission of relevant evidence is completed, the Commission will give a verdict which can not be appealed any further.
AGCC Scandal!
One of Alderney’s licensees, Full Tilt Poker, was busted in 2011 for using player funds to run the casino activities and did not have sufficient funds to cover the players payouts. This is against the rules and regulations of the Commission and it was punishable by withdrawing the license.
