Cryptologic is not an active, independent slot studio today, so we want to be upfront about that rather than write this page as if it were. Founded in 1995–96, Cryptologic was one of the true pioneers of real-money online gambling software — it powered InterCasino, widely considered the first online casino to accept a real-money wager, back in 1996. Many games marketed under the Cryptologic name over the years were actually built by NextGen Gaming’s development studio. Cryptologic was acquired by Amaya Gaming Group in 2012, then sold to NYX Gaming Group in 2015 for $150 million; NYX itself was later acquired by Scientific Games (now Light & Wonder) in 2018. No new Cryptologic-branded games appear to have been developed since around 2012–2014 — the brand exists today only as legacy IP inside a much larger corporate portfolio, not as a working studio. We have no genuinely Cryptologic-developed titles to review as a result.
