Elements: The Awakening is a 5-reel, 3-row NetEnt slot built around the four classical elements — earth, water, fire and air — on 20 fixed paylines, running on the Avalanche mechanic instead of a standard spin-and-stop reel set, with no scatters or multipliers in the base game at all.

Winning combinations explode and clear, letting new symbols cascade down to fill the gaps, and an Avalanche meter climbs by one after each successive win, up to a maximum of four in a row. Reaching four consecutive Avalanches during base play triggers one of four Free Falls Storm modes, each named after and themed around one of the four elements, with its own distinct Wild behavior — ranging from indestructible wilds that survive avalanches, to expanding wilds, to wilds that move randomly around the grid. Because the bonus is earned purely through consecutive avalanche wins rather than a scatter symbol, the free spins feel like a genuine payoff for a hot streak rather than a random trigger.
Pros
- Bonus is earned by chaining four Avalanche wins in a row, not a random scatter drop
- Four different Free Falls Storm modes each bring a distinct Wild behavior
- Avalanche cascades let a single spin chain into multiple wins
- Medium volatility keeps the base game paying at a steady rate
Cons
- 800× max win is modest given the bonus round’s complexity
- No scatters or multipliers in the base game, so all bonus value runs through Avalanches
- Reaching four consecutive Avalanches for the bonus can take patience
