Serenity is a 5-reel, 15-payline video slot from Microgaming set in a tranquil Asian garden at sunset, with paper lanterns, koi ponds, and cherry blossoms standing in for the flashing lights of a typical slot machine. The game runs on high volatility, a wild that pays on its own, and a retriggerable free spins round to deliver its payouts.

The wild symbol is also Serenity’s top-paying icon, awarding a prize on its own in addition to substituting for every other regular symbol in a winning line. Landing three or more lantern scatter symbols anywhere on the reels triggers ten free spins, and every win during the feature carries a 3x multiplier. The free spins round can retrigger, so a single bonus can run well beyond its base ten spins, and a separate Lantern Bonus feature sits alongside the scatter-triggered free spins as a second way for the game to pay out.
Pros
- Wild pays a standalone prize on top of substituting for every symbol
- Retriggerable free spins keep the 3x multiplier running across extended bonus rounds
- Calm Asian garden presentation stands apart from Microgaming’s usual adventure themes
- Wide $0.15–$75 betting range suits penny-slot and higher-stakes players alike
Cons
- Only 15 paylines limits hit frequency next to 243-ways titles
- High volatility means longer dry spells between bigger wins
- No publicly confirmed max-win multiplier for this title
- Free spins only fire when scatters land in the right combination, so it won’t hit every session
